Day Four...Its a Wonderful Life...still seeking the spirit

This is the LAST movie we are going to watch to try to bring about the Christmas spirit.

Just to give you a brief synopsis....

On Christmas Eve in Bedford Falls, a guardian angel Clarence, is assigned to convince the desperate George Bailey to not commit suicide. George is a good man who sacrificed his dreams and his youth on behalf of the citizens of his small town. He inherited the loan business of his father and he gave up his dreams of traveling the world and going to university.  Later he resisted the proposals of the evil banker Mr. Potter, and and kept his business to protect the poor community of Bedford Falls. He married his beloved Mary and they had four children. When his uncle Billy loses US$ 8,000.00, found and kept by Mr. Potter, George decides to commit suicide as he believes he is worth more dead than alive. When Clarence, George's guardian angel sees that he is not able to persuade George to give up his intention to commit suicide, he  shows George life had he not existed.  George concludes that life is wonderful.

So we sat on the sofa and discussed this classic movie...a movie that has inspired thousands if not millions of people at Christmas

We looked at each other and as if by divine guidance we are all agreed that we would have bitten George in the ankle and shoved him off the bridge!! What a pathetic human being he is!  He doesn't have the gumption to pursue his dreams. He whines about his lot in life ...and when the chips are down...when things get really tough ...he wants to kill himself!!  Right!  Leave his wife and kids to face the music alone.
And...he never had a Dog in his life! Need we say more. A true hero has a dog!

Our heroes are the people and dogs who NEVER give up...no matter how hard life becomes.

We had a paw circle ...Margaret led us in singing our carols....,the spirit is creeping up on us.
